Contemporary Landscape: Anton Nowels | Local | Oil

All Levels 9am-4pm | Tuesday-Friday $435 (not including fees)

Move between representation and abstraction with award-winning artist Anton Nowels. Artists will discover that using memory in the painting process allows for more inventive painting. The workshop will include discussions of artists using both plein air and abstraction in their work including Richard Diebenkorn, Eric Aho, Franz Kline, Monet, Josef Albers, Joan Mitchell, David Sharpe, Fred Cuming, Roos Schuring, and More. Anton will demonstrate representational abstraction in the studio. All levels welcome. Medium: All 2-D mediums (instructor will teach in oils.)

Day 1: Design - Expression and Minimal.

Day 2: Color – Harmony.

Day 3: Experimentation - Tools and Marks.

Day 4: Series - Deconstruction and Memory.
